This grilled asparagus recipe came from my wife’s Uncle who prepared this for us during one of our visits to his home a few years back. Since then, it’s changed the way I eat asparagus and once you try it, I think you’ll agree that grilled asparagus is where it’s at!
Trim the asparagus spears (see "getting started" for tips)
Place spears with olive oil and minced garlic in a sealed container and shake to coat evenly.
Place container in fridge for an hour (or longer if desired) to let olive oil and garlic flavor seep in.
Preheat BBQ to approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn off one side of the BBQ to prevent burning and flare ups.
Place spears horizontally across grill on side without flame and cook until slightly soft, don't forget to turn to get even grill marks.
Serve with a sprinkling of sea salt (adjust to taste)
If desired, you can also wrap in foil and cook this way if you do not wish to place directly on the grill.
